Anawon Rock, Rehoboth Ma

Anawon was one of King Philips Chieftains, after King Philip died the colonials pursued Anawon to Rehoboth. The rock along rt 44 today is said to be the site that Anawon relinquished the fight, thus securing the colonial footprint in the new world. Strange events such as voices in the surrounding swamp and whisps of smoke have been reported around the area.

King Phillips War

Many sites around New England have traces of the war between the colonials and the Native tribes that inhabited the area. You can find some of the places such as the Bridgewater Triangle Here and explore these places for yourself. Many paranormal sightings have occurred and some speculate as to whether the war was to blame, having seen as much death as it did, or if in the previous nine thousand years of human activity something more devious can be to blame.

All across the New England states you can find small signs, hills and rock outcroppings where some part of the war had touched. It’s a dark part of our history that lingers in the woods for each of us to explore, find and be reminded of.
